PREPARATION

Preheat the oven to 350°
COOKING THE NOODLES

Put a large pot of water on to boil.

Cook the pasta according to package directions. Drain and rinse under cold water to avoid sticking. Pour the noodles into the skillet with the onions.

COOKING THE ONIONS AND GARLIC

Heat a 12-inch cast iron skillet over medium heat.

Add the oil, garlic, onions, and 1/4 teaspoon of the salt and cook, stirring a few times, until the onions are softened, 8 to 10 minutes.

Add the grated parmesan and egg whites and mix very well.
BAKING THE SKILLET

Place the skillet into the preheated oven.

Bake for 15-20 minutes, remove and serve with marinara sauce and parmesan over the top if desired.
